Are the newer "Westcott and Hort" translations different from the older "Traditional Text" translations? Can you see how each change is significant?
Paraphrased "Bibles" are different from translated versions. A Bible translation attempts to translate Scripture word by word. A paraphrase attempts to translate "meanings" - to retell stories in today's language.
Examples of modern paraphrase "Bibles" would include: The New Testament in Modern English (1958), The New Testament in Plain English (1963), Good News for Modern Man (1966), and The Living Bible- TLB (1972). Of these The Living Bible has gained the greatest popularity. Below are various textual comparisons between the KJV (King James Version) and the TLB (The Living Bible) paraphrase:

Why is it wrong to retell God's Words in my own and call it the "Bible"? What dangers can you see in using a paraphrased "Bible"after reading the comparison examples listed?
