Baptismal and decisional regeneration deny the scriptural doctrine of mankind's total depravity, especially of those who are baptized. Due to natural man's totally sinful condition, no person can ever be saved by his own free choice. Fallen man will always choose for self instead of for God, due to his sinful will - his love for self and sin and his enmity toward God and his neighbor.

These teachings also deny the truths of God's unconditional election, Christ's limited atonement, the Holy Spirit's irresistible grace, and the persevering of all God's children in their saved state of grace.
