Can you identify all three elements of true repentance in these examples - a confession of, sorrow for, and turning from, sin to God?
God speaks clearly in His Word of: commands to sinners to repent from their sins, promises to those who do so, and warnings to those who do not. The following chart provides some examples.

How does a proper understanding of repentance do away with the "easy-believism" ideas of simply "making a decision for God" or of "accepting Christ and then all is well"?

1. Commands to repent
|
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of
Israel?
