Is all use of sports wrong? Is personal physical fitness sinful? Is all participation in group games improper? To properly address these questions, we must examine several scriptural principles pertaining to man's body and its health and fitness.
God created us with the following aspects of human personhood:
All four aspects of human personhood are God-given and important. The health of each must be promoted. While all four are to be valued, according to Scripture, they are not of equal value. They are ranked in importance as follows:
Physical health, physical fitness, and physical education are important for the following four reasons:
1. God made man's body.
2. God cares for the needs of man's body.
3. Man is to treasure God's gift of a healthy body; he is to use all proper means to maintain its health and to avoid all damaging, careless, or reckless means which promote its destruction.

Why should a Christian School education include physical education? How should it rank in importance with the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of education? How can physical education be overvalued or undervalued?
