- Personal meditation - striving to personally think about God and His Word, and your relationship and obedience to Him. Sunday, especially, offers time for this. Think about yourself -about how to improve your weaknesses and failures, and how to better use your strengths to serve God and others
- Personal Prayer - seeking to bring your confessions, needs, thanksgivings, and praises to God in prayer both for yourself and others, is crucial. Sunday, especially, provides an excellent time for this. Pray especially that the Lord might graciously convert your heart, and conform your will, making you submissive to His will
- Personal activities - In addition to reading, meditating, and prayer, some possibilities would include:
- Studying a certain question, truth, or portion of Scripture
- Keeping a journal in which you record the various scriptural truths and applications you learned or were impressed with in church or school in the past week. This is an excellent meditational help
- Reaching out to various needy people; write a letter to a widow or widower you know or someone who is lonely or hospitalized
- Thinking of ways you can help one of your classmates or fellow employees with a particular need they might have
Whatever you do, do not allow your Sundays to become boring days with nothing to do! Also, do not use your Sundays for
