KING

KING JESUS

“For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast”
—Ephesians 2:8-9

King Jesus, King Jesus, my soul He has saved,
King Jesus, King Jesus, my judgment has waived;
With His gracious pardon He stands in my place,

Saved by His super abounding free grace.

I know it was Him who sought after my soul
For I was unwilling to hear death’s bell toll;
It was not of myself and not of my tears

Nor of my pew-sitting all through the years.

Not saved by my works lest pride should then boast
That I was a part of enlarging my coast;
His grace through faith has come to anoint,
To the King of all glory my desire I point.

King Jesus, King Jesus, how precious His name
To all who are blinded, deaf dumb, and lame;
Christ is the Rock to whom we must cling,
King Jesus, King Jesus, His name do I sing!
